"strong tower"

I love skyscrapers!  I find them very fascinating!  To see what an architect can envision is mind boggling to me!  The new "One World Tower" in NYC is breathtaking and thought provoking, I had the privilege of seeing it up close, I love it!  They designed it to reach 1776 feet into the air.  Of course that is a symbolic number of the year our nation was founded!

God's Word tells us that He is our strong tower, our refuge, our fortress!  When I see what man can make it simply leads me to the breathtaking power of God.  God is much more, much greater, much more grande than even the tallest of buildings!  God is not just a structure as a skyscraper He is a strong tower He is a preserver, protector and provider.  He is my guard, my guide and my granite rock!  God is solid, he is sure and unstoppable!

They say that the "One World Tower" in NYC is to be envied as the safest Tower in the World... Well, we know the truth...

God is the safest Tower and the strongest Tower ever!

Proverbs 18:10
"The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are safe!"

"I will sing to the Lord because He is good to me." Psalm 13:6

Have you heard that song, "whistle while you work?" What a concept?  Why is this phrase so famous?  The song was written in 1937 by Larry Morey for the hit movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  I think the phrase "whistle while you work," is so memorable because it makes sense.  The idea is that if you whistle while you work you will have a better time working, do a better job and have a better day all together!

Singing to the Lord just makes sense and makes every day better.  So whether you whistle while you work or not, definitely sing to the Lord while you live!  For HE IS GOOD to us!

Enjoy the Lord today!

"It will happen..."
Here I sit awaiting the snowfall that the kids, my wife and I have been praying for all winter long.
Columbus Georgia doesn't always get snow so we are very excited and expectant!
We are looking forward to snow ball fights, snowmen and snow angels (sounds heavenly to us)!
As we wait, the world around us here in Columbus has slowed down a bit, schools are closed,
businesses are closing early and it is COLD!
With the kids looking out the window, praise music playing and the candles lit, we await...
The only problem is, we see all the signs around us but NO SNOWFLAKES... yet.
So it feels cold, it looks cold, we the people are acting like a blizzard is arriving, but it is not here yet...
The kids are asking, Dad, where is the snow, I keep saying "it will happen... it is coming..."
In the same way we know the Truth, Jesus said He would return, he would come back for us...
We can feel it, it looks like it, people are acting like it and we are asking the Father when?
Jesus said... "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads, for your redemption draws near."
 Luke 21:28

"others centered"
As you look at the Apostle Paul's life you get glimpses into the heart of Christ!
There are many amazing qualities that he has and I would like to highlight
one of them with you this week!

I love the fact that Paul was very "others" centered.  Paul would put
himself out for another individual.  We know that Jesus was the same way as
we travel through the Gospels and see Him deny Himself and place others
needs above His own!

Read these two passages...

Paul said, "I will very gladly spend and be spent for you..."  II Cor. 12:15a

Jesus said, "even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and
give His life for many!" Mark 10:45

?Are you others centered?

all for Jesus till He comes,

Weekly Devotion - Jan 13
"His Pen!"
As you read through the Bible, you can’t help but be
amazed at the penmanship of the Lord!
The Word of God is an amazing miraculous gift to mankind.
The Lord moves from creation to destruction to revitalization to
wanderings to recapturing to reemphasizing throughout the Old Testament the
coming of this Messiah. The Old
Testament tells the tales of God’s creation as He set the scene for His Messiah
“Jesus,” to come and save us from ourselves and our sin.
Finally after 400 years of silence Jesus came!
He came to die, He fulfills all the old testament pictures, prophets and
psalms!  JESUS has come and died,
resurrected and ascended to Heaven to now prepare a place for all of us… If God
completely fulfilled all the old testament He will surely fulfill the rest of
the story, which is to save us from a God rejecting World and eventually set up
a New Heaven & Earth!  I can’t
wait!  Meanwhile, let’s take
advantage of the gift of life we have in Christ and serve Him
wholeheartedly
!

“this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven,
shall so come in like manner…” Acts 1:11b

?Are you taking God at His Word, or do you doubt Him?

May the Lord richly Bless you,
